Certificates
Every Michael Israel artwork is recorded in the Michael Israel Art Registry and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) in the buyer’s name. The COA verifies authenticity and records the sale, transfer, and ownership history of the artwork. Use this page to request certificate services, replacements, or ownership updates. Choose the option below that best fits your situation.
Replacement Certificates
If your COA has been lost or damaged, the registered owner can request a replacement. Only the person listed as the registered owner may order a replacement without an ownership review. If you purchased the artwork for someone else, please list their name as the buyer to avoid fees for ownership changes. Processing time is typically about 10 business days. Expedited service is available for an additional fee.
Transfers & New Ownership
If the artwork has been sold or gifted, the new owner must update the registry to receive a COA in their name. With Proof of Sale or Transfer
Provide a verifiable bill of sale, receipt, or signed Official Michael Israel Sale/Transfer Form from the previous owner. Once verified, the registry will be updated and a new COA will be issued. Without Proof of Sale or Transfer
If no documentation is available, the artwork must go through an authenticity review before a new COA can be issued. The new COA will show both the last registered owner and the current holder, noting that the transfer is unverified.
Registry Protection & Accuracy
The registry is maintained carefully to protect collectors and prevent fraud. However, Michael Israel, Michael Israel Inc., and Fourth Realm Fine Art make no guarantees of absolute accuracy or completeness and are not responsible for losses or disputes related to registry data or COAs. Fake or altered COAs, false claims, or unauthorized reproductions may result in denial of authentication, registry suspension, and possible legal action.
